About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has completed repairs to the bridge deck surface on the northbound and southbound I-75 bridges over the Alafia River in Hillsborough County. Repairs were also be made to deteriorated timbers of the fender system. These repairs will improve the riding surface and extend the life span of the bridges.
Improvement Highlights for this project include:
- Improve the riding surface by replacing previously patched areas.
- Increase the life span of the bridges.
- Reduce future maintenance costs.
- Reduce the chance of unplanned, emergency repairs.
- Improve the strength of the timber fender system.
