About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has completed making capacity and safety improvements to Interstate 275 in Pinellas County, Florida from Gandy Boulevard to just north of Roosevelt Boulevard. These improvements will enable more vehicles to safely use the road by adding another lane in each direction and create a safer highway corridor through interchange and lighting improvements.
Improvement highlights for the I-275 corridor included:
- Increased from a 6-lane highway to an 8-lane highway through most of the corridor; from 4-lanes to 6-lanes near Roosevelt Boulevard.
- Repaired concrete slabs in existing travel lanes. Ground all lanes (old and new) to provide an even surface area.
- Built ramp connection for County Road 296 Connector project (that began January 8, 2001).
