About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) contractor widened the southbound I-75 exit ramp and the entrance ramp onto northbound I-75. The left turn lanes from Gibsonton Drive onto I-75 were also widened.
Other work in this project included some drainage improvements, a new overhead sign structure on the southbound exit ramp, new traffic signals on the west side of I-75 at Gibsonton Drive, and pavement milling and resurfacing.
Traffic Flow
There was daytime work, but the construction plans were designed so that all mainline travel lanes were open on I-75 and Gibsonton Drive during peak traffic hours.
Night Work
In order to maintain the construction schedule, and to minimize the impact to the traveling public, all lane closures and some construction work were done during nighttime hours.
Lane Closure Hours
10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
