About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation has completed improving the barrier system at each end of the Howard Frankland bridge by replacing the existing fence with concrete barrier wall. The barrier will help with erosion control and help prevent vehicles that leave the roadway from entering the water.
Improvement Highlights
- Gravel fill was placed beneath the new barrier and behind the existing seawall in order to prevent future storm damage.

Traffic was not impacted as no closures were needed for this work.
