About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation's contractor, Highway Safety Devices, has completed installing Intelligent Transportation System field components as part of the Tampa SunGuide Freeway Management System.
This included installation of Dynamic Message Signs, Video Monitoring Cameras, Vehicle Detection Stations, Fiber Optic Communications Cable and related components along I-275 from south of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (MLK) to north of Bearss Avenue. Fiber optic cable was also installed along Busch Boulevard from I-275 to McKinley Drive, and along McKinley Drive from Busch Blvd. to the Tampa Bay SunGuide Center at the FDOT District Seven offices.
Lane Closures
Lane closures were allowed as follows:
Northbound and Southbound I-275: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Southbound I-275 exit to westbound SR 60 may be closed at night
